- Hey, Manfred Matzinger, you mumbled somthing about USRobotics Sportster and
- A1200/30? on 25-Jan-96 19:33:15?
- MM> I think about upgrading from my V32.terbo modem to an USRobotics
- MM> Sportster V.34.
-
- I have one of those
-
- MM> So I want to know:
-
- MM> 1) How fast can I set the data-transmission-rate between the A1200

- MM> possible without problems?
-
- With a decent cable, no interference, the wind in the right direction, yes.
- It's prolly better to keep it to 57600, it makes no difference do a 28800
- modem really. Serial.device will do 57600 fine, if you want to go for
- 115200 you might want to try artser.device or I think there is a
- USRserial.device somewhere.
-
- MM> 3) Is there an upgrade-kit to V34+ for the Sportster?
-
- No. Well, if there is I haven't heard about it. Also, buy new. The first
- ones (like mine) have a dodgy chipset, sometimes it affects negotiation, and
- for this reason I can't go over 26400 to BBS's or my ISP. And USR seem a bit
- reluctant to do owt about it.
